Football and Rugby Trials September 2017
At Glyn School, both football and rugby are played to a very high standard. The Trials for these teams will take place at the The Paul Beeken Sports Pavillion (Priest Hill) on the dates and times shown below:
|Wednesday 6 September 2017||Saturday 9 September 2017|
|3.30pm-5.30pm at Priest Hill||9.00am -11.00am at Priest Hill|
|Football - Merton, St Benet, Oaks and Tudor||Football - Abbey, Bourne, Carew and Derby|
|Rugby - Abbey, Bourne, Carew and Derby||Rugby - Merton, St Benet, Oaks and Tudor|
There is limited parking space at Priest Hill, so in order to help prevent congestion parents are asked to park in NESCOT College car park and walk up to the playing fields. There will also be a final trial for selected football students on Friday 15 September 2017 from 3.30pm until 5.30pm and a further round of trials for rugby may be organised for the following week, however, we will let the students know any further details.
Students involved in the Wednesday trials should meet outside the canteen at 3:20pm, at which point they will be escorted up to Priest Hill by members of the PE staff. All students must wear their full school games kit, which consists of the blue reversible rugby shirt, navy shorts and blue socks. For rugby, every student must also bring a gum shield (students without gum shields will not be allowed to play) and for football shin pads must be worn. Goalkeepers should also bring gloves and goalkeepers’ tops of their choice and every player needs a good supply of fluid.
If you have any questions relating to rugby please contact Mr Hawkes at Hawkesm@glynschool.org or if your query is regarding football please email Mr Tanner via email on Tannerm@glynschool.org.
