Response Curriculum Overview
It is the objective of every teacher and member of associate staff at Glyn School to educate all of our students to the maximum of their potential. We seek to inspire our students not just academically, but as healthy, well-rounded young people who will contribute positively to the society they will live and work in as young adults. This means offering a curriculum from Year 7 through to Year 13 that is fit for this purpose. Our vision for our curriculum is a simple one: we seek to inspire our students not just academically through the value and beauty of a subject, but people who will contribute positively to the community when they leave the school.
To this end, and in response to the period of closure during Summer 2020, every Head of Subject at the school has worked carefully on modifying their curriculum for Term 1 of the academic year. It is our keen desire to ensure our classroom practice is the best it can possibly be as we look to close the attainment gap that Covid-19 has amplified, and ensure that all our students continue to make outstanding progress.
There is a Response Curriculum currently in place for each year goup and for each subject. Within this, subject teachers and leaders have modified each subject’s curriculum in order to introduce new content, but in a way that identifies and addresses potential learning gaps that have come about as a result of closure. We hope you find this information useful; if you have any questions, please contact your child's respective subject teacher.
