Open Evening

Glyn School will be holding an Open Evening on Wednesday 10 July 2019 for prospective entry into Year 7 in September 2020 and 2021. Further details will follow nearer the time.

At Glyn we hope to make your transition from primary to secondary school, or later on as an in-year transfer, as smooth as possible. Below you will find some useful information about the admissions process and links to relevant websites and contacts.

Waiting Lists for Year 7 - 11 Students .

The deadline of Thursday 25 April 2019 for notifying the Admissions Department that you wish your child to remain on our waiting list has now passed. If you did not complete the online form, we will be removing your son's name from our waiting list.  New waiting list rankings will be put in place as of 1 May 2019.

If you would like to reinstate your son’s name to our waiting list in the future this can be done through the ‘In Year Admissions Process’ via Surrey Admissions.

Surrey County Council is the admission authority for this school. Schools Admission Appeals Timetable

In Year or Immediate Entry Appeals

Appeals resulting from In Year admission applications will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged. 

Appeals for September 2019 resulting from year of entry or transfer applications:

School Offer Appeals lodged by Appeals to be heard by
Secondary 1 March 2019 29 March 2019 18 June 2019 (40 School days)
Primary 16 April 2019 21 May 2019 23 July 2019 (40 School days)

NB. Appeals will not start being heard until after the relevant closing date has passed.

Appeals lodged after these dates will be heard within 40 schools days of the appeal deadline or 30 schools days of being lodged, whichever is the later date.

Appellants will be sent notification of their appeal hearing at least 10 clear school days in advance of the hearing.  Appellants will be sent a copy of the school's case 7 clear working days in advance of the hearing.

Appellants must ensure that any further evidence not included with their initial appeal, is received by 5pm on the day preceding three clear working days prior to the appeal hearing date.  Any additional evidence or information received after this date might not be considered at the appeal hearing.
