Offers for Year 7 September 2019 Entry

We would like to welcome all students who will be joining Glyn School in our Year 7 cohort, entry September 2019.

Applicants will receive their offer of a secondary school place letter direct from Surrey County Council’s Admissions Team, who will manage Year 7 offers and any queries relating to the offer of a school place up until the start of the new Academic Year.

The Admissions Department at Glyn School will post welcome letters together with additional information week commencing 25 March 2019, once the Local Authority has confirmed the names of students who will be starting at Glyn School from September 2019.

The Admissions Department at Glyn School can give an indication on where an applicant is on the Surrey County Council waiting list, however due to the amount of movement within the first three weeks this would only be an estimate.

Glyn School will be holding an Open Evening on Wednesday 10 July 2019 for prospective entry into Year 7 in September 2020 and 2021. Further details will follow nearer the time.

Waiting Lists for Year 7 - 11 Students 

If you wish for your son’s name to remain on the waiting list for academic year 2019-2020, you must complete the  below online form:

If we do not receive notification from you by Thursday 25 April 2019 we will assume you no longer wish to remain on our waiting list and your son’s name will be removed.  If you would like to reinstate your son’s name to our waiting list in the future this can be done through the ‘In Year Admissions Process’ via Surrey Admissions.

Admissions to Year 7 at Glyn School for September 2019

Further information regarding the timeline of the Surrey admissions process, how to apply and Surrey's online application form can be found at . 

Parents and Carers who live in Surrey will be able to apply for a secondary school place from 1 September 2018. Whilst the closing date for secondary applications are 31 October 2018, we encourage applicants to submit their application forms by Friday 19 October 2018 as this is the Friday before half term in state schools.

Schools Admission Appeals Timetable

In Year or Immediate Entry Appeals

Appeals resulting from In Year admission applications will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged. 

Appeals for September 2019 resulting from year of entry or transfer applications:

NB. Appeals will not start being heard until after the relevant closing date has passed.

Appeals lodged after these dates will be heard within 40 schools days of the appeal deadline or 30 schools days of being lodged, whichever is the later date.

Appellants will be sent notification of their appeal hearing at least 10 clear school days in advance of the hearing.  Appellants will be sent a copy of the school's case 7 clear working days in advance of the hearing.

Appellants must ensure that any further evidence not included with their initial appeal, is received by 5pm on the day preceding three clear working days prior to the appeal hearing date.  Any additional evidence or information received after this date might not be considered at the appeal hearing.
