GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Glyn School is commited to producing global citizens as part of our personal develpment curriculum. 

To achieve this we ensure the following:

1. The geography currciulum is global in context throughout.

2. All subject areas are global in context in mutiple areas.

3. Have a partner international school.

4. Undertake global projects outside of the core curriculum.

 

Glyn School is partners with St Christophers' School in Nairobi, Kenya with whom we have undertaken multiple projects including:

1. A joint Climate Change Group.

2. Joint Art Competitions.

3. Regular contact between senior leaders from both schools.

4. Professional coaching between staff from both schools.

 

Additionally, we have undetaken the following projects:

1. Global Foods in Year 9 (6 weeks).

2. Learning Swaheli in Year 8 (2 weeks).

3. Attending Model UN conferences.

4. Hosting Spanish students for an immersive experience.

 

We are very proud of our work on global citizenship and since 2021, we have been awarded the foundation and intermediate international school award from the British Council. We will be applying for full accreditation in 2023.
