Year 7 Times Tables Rock Stars Challenge

Year 7 Spring 2021 Times Tables Rock Stars Challenge

TTRS

Times Tables Rock Stars is a website that allows students to practise their times tables whenever they wish.  Students can simply log in and play, and they can also have competitions with their friends.  There are games where the aim is to be as accurate as possible, and other games where the aim is to be as quick as possible.

All Year 7 students have used Times Tables Rock Stars since they joined Glyn School in September, and they may well have also used it at primary school, so your child will be familiar with the site.

Competition

Your child needs to log in to their Times Tables Rock Stars account - please ask students to email me if they need help with their password. Students can then play any 'game' as often as they wish.  For each correct answer to a times tables question, students will earn a battle point for their Form.  At the same time, students will still be able to earn ‘coins' as normal so that they can buy clothes for their character.

The Battle will be running from 6am on Monday 8 February until 9pm on Sunday 28 February (the February half term break and a week on either side). Students can log in as often as they wish at any time during those three weeks, but I have set the battle to only accumulate points between 6am and 9pm daily, so that students do not stay on their devices late into the night.

The more often students play, the more students will practise, and the more points they will earn for their Form.  Collectively, every five minutes of play will really make a difference.  Every student, however good they are with their times tables, should join in, as this will only make them faster and better at their times tables.

I have sent Year 7 students an email to their school account, detailing the above competition, but please contact me via m.chhatralia@glynschool.org in you have any questions.

Which Form will be our first ever Year 7 Times Tables Rock Stars Champions?  Join in and make it your Form!
