Glyn Sports Awards Dinner
Friday 17 March saw the inaugural Glyn Sports Awards Evening take place in The Proctor Hall. This is the first time that a Sports Awards event of this scale has been held at the school, with nearly 150 attendees. Parents, carers and students were invited to attend an evening to congratulate students on their incredible efforts in their chosen sport. Prize winners from every year group were invited to receive their awards during an evening which celebrated Glyn sport.
The evening comprised of a three course dinner and inspirational speech from Ross Chisholm, a professional rugby player, and the celebration of some exceptional performances across football and rugby since September. The evening emphasised the talent and commitment that Glyn students have for extra-curricular activities and how lucky we are as a school to be represented by such a high calibre of student.
Due to the success of the evening there will be similar event in the summer for a variety of other sports, including cricket and swimming, to ensure all achievements are being congratulated throughout the year.
Thank you to all who attended and made the evening such a success; a proud evening as Head of PE and Games to be able to celebrate such great performances across the school.
Mr Martin, Head of PE and Games
