Classic FM Success for Jack Pepper

Jack Pepper, Head Boy, has just been announced as one of Classic FM’s composers for their 25th birthday celebrations.

By virtue of his selection, Jack has been recognised as one of the most talented young composers in the country. Unlike a standard competition, this is a professional commission and it will be premiered at the Barbican Centre for the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music’s Music Teacher of the Year Awards on 7 July, before being performed in a concert with all the other composers selected at the Royal Albert Hall in September.

The selection process for this commission took place in front of a panel of eminent composers featuring Debbie Wiseman (Classic FM’s current composer in residence) and Paul Mealor (who was the composer for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding). This is a huge honour for Jack and, on behalf of the whole Glyn community, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate him on his success!
