Glyn Sports Days 2021

With this year's planned Sports Day no longer able to go ahead, we will now be hosting individual ‘bubbled’ Sports Days for Years 7 to 10 respectively.  These will be hosted at our Priest Hill playing fields on the following dates:

Friday 9 July 2021

Year 7

Monday 12 July 2021

Year 10

Tuesday 13 July 2021

Year 8

Wednesday 14 July 2021

Year 9

Whilst we are not able to offer our usual full timetable of events, there will be a wide range of activities for our students to be involved in.  These will include Athletics (both Track & Field), Tug of War, House Softball, and House Cricket.  Form Tutors have been populating team sheets as part of their morning Form time activities.  As such, students should be aware of which activities they are involved in by Tuesday 6 July.  If students have any questions regarding this, they should contact their Form Tutor directly.

Students will not be required to attend their usual lessons on their individual ‘bubbled’ Sports Day. Instead, they will need to arrive at Priest Hill by 9.15am, where they will then be registered by members of the pastoral team.  The Sports Days will finish by 2.15pm, at which time students will be registered again before being dismissed to go home.  If you are collecting your child by car, please can you ensure you leave the site as soon as possible so that the car park does not become too congested.

Students will need to attend in their usual school PE or Games kit.  Additional layers may be worn so that students can keep warm on the day. Students will also need a water bottle, sun cream, and appropriate clothing for all weather conditions (including a hat).  In the event of extreme heat or rain, additional shade and shelter will be provided for each Form group.  Students will require a packed lunch and snacks to last them throughout the day.  Students in receipt of Free School Meals will be provided with a packed lunch which should be collected from the main pavilion at 1.00pm on the day.

In the event of a poor weather forecast, alternative sporting arrangements will be in place on the school site. Timings will remain as 9.15am registration in the Sports Hall and 2.15pm departure. If that is the case, information will be communicated by 12.00pm on the day prior to their Sports Day via the school website and email.
