16 to 19 Tuition Fund Statement of Intent

We have received some additional funding from the Government to support students who have been impacted by the National lockdown. The 16-19 Tuition Fund, for the academic year 2022-2023, has helped us to increase support for students impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and school closures. Students selected for this support were those who had not gained a Grade 4 in Maths and/or English GCSE and were continuing to study Level 3 courses. Additional students selected were those who had gained a Grade 4 in English and Maths, but had special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and had experienced additional disruption to learning as a result of their specific needs and disabilities. The funding will be used for targeted support classes and tuition.

We used the funding for:

  • Small group tuition (less than 5 students)
  • Additional classes to create smaller groups
  • Increased hours of tuition by a subject specialist
  • Increased hours of supervised provision whilst using third party platforms for revision

The impact of this additional tuition will be reviewed and adapted as the year progresses.
