GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Bronze Medal Win - British School Fencing Team Championships

A great result at the weekend! Glyn School beat a number of the top Fencing schools including Millfield, St Benedicts B and Tonbridge School with Max (13D) anchoring the team with some great comebacks from some eg beating Milfield 45-43 after being 32-40 down.

Glyn got through to the last four but unfortunately Max could not work miracles twice as despite getting 17 hits in his last fight and coming back from 40-23 down he eventually lost 45-40.  A great team performance especially from Angelo (9SB) who is only 13 and Carskey (9T) 14, who were both fencing in U18 category. 

There was also a good performance from Toby (12M1) to help the team achieve the semi final, and coming 3rd overall to win bronze medals. Well done team Glyn!
