Final Rugby Game of 2023 for Year 13 and 11 Students Leaving Glyn

Over the last 7 years, the commitment to Glyn Rugby has been superb by our Year 13 team members. With over 18 still playing, this is a testament to them as a Year group. We also have a number of Year 11 for whom, this was also their last game after committing to 5 years of Glyn Rugby. One last match to celebrate!

The game was played on a very muddy and boggy pitch - this was no end of season paradise! However, the Rugby was why the large support and player group were here. The first half was played by the Year 11s and Year 12s. A good first half saw the scores 7-15 to our opponents at half time, with neither team breaking down some solid defensive tackling.

The second half saw the Year 13s and two of the Year 11 leavers take to the field. The game tussled to and fro, with Glyn coming away as eventual winners on the last play, 17-14 against St. Andrew's school.

Firstly, I'd like to thank all the students involved in the Glyn Senior Rugby teams this season; a season that's been disjointed with opposition calling fixtures off and some pretty adverse weather.

Secondly, a huge thank you to all the parents for your incredible support and our sponsor Johnson IPA for providing such fantastic support and the kits that have been worn over the last few seasons.

Finally, to Simon Humphris and the other staff, Mr Dawson, Mr Summers, Mr Simonds and Mr Maude who have supported the teams all season long. I hope that all that are leaving Glyn, do so with memories that will last a lifetime and friendships that have been created because of this great game.
