Understanding Our Two-Week Timetable
When you join Year 7, you’ll use something called a two-week timetable. Don’t worry — it’s much easier than it sounds! Here’s how it works:
Two Weeks = Week 1 and Week 2
Our timetable runs on a repeating cycle of Week 1 and Week 2
That means:
- One week is Week 1
- The next week is Week 2
- Then it goes back to Week 1
- …and repeats all year!
Think of it like a pattern: 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 ..............
Why do we use a two week timetable?
Because it gives you:
- More variety in your subjects
- More time for practical lessons like Art, DT and PE
- A chance to study different topics without cramming them into five days
It keeps your week interesting and balanced!
What changes between Week 1 and Week 2?
You’ll still have:
- Form Period and 5 lessons a day
- The same start and finish times
- The timings will remain the same.
Just a few of your lessons will be in different places depending on the week.
Will it be confusing at first?
Not really — especially because:
- Your timetable clearly says Week 1 or Week 2
- It’s written at the top of the school calendar and on the website school calendar
- After about 2 weeks, you’ll remember it without even trying!
Most Year 7s say they find it fun once they get used to it.
What might your timetable look like?
