Online Safety and Mental Wellbeing

Online Safety and Mental Wellbeing

As Week 2 of remote learning comes to an end, students will be fairly used to logging online for their remote lessons now. In order to ensure students’ safety online when they are not in lessons, Surrey Police have given some updated advice for families to follow:

  • Make sure your child’s online profiles on social media are private.
  • Ask your child to show you what sites they use.
  • Make sure your child is only friends online with people they trust in the real world.
  • Set appropriate parental controls on their mobile, computer and games console.

In addition to the Glyn Sharp site, the following sites can be useful for further advice:

It is important to consider the impact of increased screen time on children’s mental health.  Please see below for some helpful tips of how to support children during the lockdown period. If you become concerned at all about your child’s mental health, please do contact me or any of the Pastoral Team.
