GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Consultation: Draft Sixth Form Admissions Policy 2024-2025

Consultation: Draft Admissions Arrangements for 2024-2025

We have consulted on our Admissions Arrangements for 2024-2025. This consultation commenced at 9:00am on Friday 2 December 2022 and closed at 5:00am on Monday 23 January 2023. To take part in the Consultation, stakeholders sent their comments to Miss Shelley Anderson, Compliance and Admissions Officer, via email Consultation@glynschool.org

Our Admissions Arrangements for 2024-2025 are available HERE. Anyone interested in this consultation is encouraged to read these in detail.

The key changes to our admissions arrangements are as follows:

  • The addition of a third placed oversubscription criteria, to allow the school to name a feeder school into the Sixth Form (this allows the Trust to continue to offer Key Stage 5 education to its students in the local area).
  • To name The Beacon School as a feeder school to Glyn School Sixth Form. (The Beacon School is closing its Sixth Form and this will allow the Trust to offer those students access to Key Stage 5 provision).

This consultation is taking place in accordance with the requirements as set out in the School Admission Code. The Consultation must take place for six weeks and it is good practice that this six-week period excludes school holidays.

The GLF Trust Board is the Admissions Authority for our School. It will review all responses to the Consultation prior to agreeing the final Admissions Arrangements for 2024-2025. These will be published on our website no later than Wednesday, 15 March 2023, in line with the statutory requirement.
